(Richmond) Queen & Associates (Q&A), a strategic leadership development firm, is proud to announce its certification as a B Corporation, joining almost 2,000 companies around the globe who are committed to using business as a force for good. This certification means that Q&A voluntarily meets a higher standard of transparency and accountability and is committed to using the power of business to solve social and environmental challenges.

B Corp certification recognizes companies who voluntarily meet standards of transparency, accountability, and social and environmental impact. More than 1,800 companies in over 50 countries and across 130 industries have reached what Inc. Magazine called “the highest standard for socially responsible business.” Q&A joins companies such as Patagonia, Etsy, Eileen Fischer, and Impact Makers in achieving this certification.

The certification process requires companies to undergo and pass an assessment by B Lab that evaluates their mission, social impact and environmental stewardship. As part of the B Corp certification, Q&A has committed to substantial pro bono work and to sharing revenue with St. Andrew’s School in Richmond, VA. St. Andrew’s is a K-5 school transforming lives by providing quality education to children from families with limited financial resources with a full scholarship for every child, nurturing their intellectual, creative, moral and spiritual growth and preparing them to be the next generation of leaders.

“Through our work in leadership development, we focus on the people who drive results. With each leader, team, and organization, we work to help create healthy cultures in which people are respected and empowered so they can bring the best of themselves to the challenges that face them, their organizations and society,” said Lynn Ellen Queen, Principal of Q&A. “Becoming a B Corp reinforces how committed we are both to our mission and to using business as a force for good and allows us to be in community with other businesses that are making a difference.”
